About me

Psychotherapy can be a life-changing experience

People start therapy for many different reasons.

You may feel dissatisfied or distressed, want to explore the past, process difficult life events, achieve new goals or just learn more about yourself.

Creating a supportive environment

To facilitate self-awareness, I place particular attention on developing a trusting, safe and collaborative relationship. In this supportive environment with trust, we will work as a team to develop a shared understanding of your difficulties and identify how these difficulties affect your thoughts, beliefs, behaviours, feelings and daily functioning.

Integrative Therapy

My style of practice is Integrative, this means I draw from different psychological modalities, including psychodynamic, existential and creatively incorporate the transpersonal use of visualisations and dream work.

Tailoring therapy to the individual’s needs

Ultimately, my main focus is you, and for this reason, I tailor the type of therapy to the individuals’ needs and presenting issues.

I am an experienced psychotherapist and relationship therapist working with individuals, couples, and families. I offer face-to-face sessions, as well as offering sessions online via Zoom.

I look forward to working with you

Further information

I am a qualified, accredited and registered integrative transpersonal psychotherapist and counsellor with over 6 years of experience working with individuals and couples and family members in various capacities.

My foundation in psychotherapy and counselling was completed at The Minster Centre in London and I went on to train and qualify as a psychotherapist and counsellor at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE), in London.

I completed a combined academic and experiential five-year postgraduate diploma which is accredited by both UKCP and BACP.

I adhere to both of these accredited boards’ ethical frameworks.

I am a qualified Imago Relationship Therapist

As well as being a qualified integrative transpersonal psychotherapist and counsellor, I am also a qualified Imago Relationship Therapist, where the focus is on issues between romantic couples and issues between family members.

With over 6 years of study, research and working with clients, I undertake monthly supervision for my individual client work and for my relationship therapy clients, while making sure I keep up to date with developments in both fields with regular CPD training.

Testimonials

  • Jemma Dennis is the most incredible therapist - I can't recommend her more highly. Over the past 18 months, she has supported me through an incredibly difficult period of my life with compassion, patience, and deep insight. What stood out most was her ability to really listen — not just to what I was saying, but to what I was struggling to put into words. She helped me untangle complex emotions, rebuild my confidence, and gradually find a sense of calm and stability again. Therapy with her was not about quick fixes, but about understanding, growth, and learning how to feel grounded and at peace with myself. I now feel stronger, more self-aware, and far more at ease than I did when I first started. I am deeply grateful for her support and would wholeheartedly recommend Jemma to anyone looking for a thoughtful, skilled, and genuinely caring therapist. Thank you Jemma!
  • I cannot recommend Jemma enough. Made me feel very comfortable from the beginning of my journey and helped me so so much. Every week was so nice, and pleasant to speak about anything I was dealing with or not. Jemma made it so easy to speak about my feelings, and understood. She is a great person and even better therapist with the knowledge, skills and everything else to help me! I cannot thank her enough for how much she has helped me on my journey.'
  • It's been so lovely working with Jemma because I was very hesitant with starting but she created a safe environment to allow me to open up & help navigate through certain tricky stages of my life. I've learnt more about myself than I ever have and genuinely in a better place."

Frequently asked questions

What happens in Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy will provide you with the space to talk and reflect, to help you explore and understand your feelings, thoughts and behaviours, so that you can free yourself from emotional blocks and be able to live a more fulfilling life.

It will involve you speaking about your current and past problems, and I will be listening in a particularly empathic and skilled way. I will be looking for and carefully highlighting previously uncovered patterns, meanings, emotions, defences and beliefs. The understanding of which will help you see yourself more clearly and thus clear the pathway to change. As the therapy progresses you will gain a better understanding of and compassion for why you live as you do, and you will observe when and where your patterns are being enacted. Over time as your feelings and confidence start to change through the process of psychotherapy, you will begin to feel secure enough to start co-formulating and experimenting with new and more satisfying ways to be; reducing your symptoms and improving your relationship with yourself and others.
